I have done a range of TV, radio, and podcast interviews. Some of these have been directly related to my research on the shinkansen and or about the flight JL123 crash, but I have also done many on other subjects related to Japan. Some examples of programmes and interviews that I have done are:

  • Trains That Changed The World‘ (Episode 4 – Metal Monsters, Episode 6 – SuperTrains) which was first shown on the channel Yesterday in November 2018.
  • Episode 5 (‘Poor Maintenance’) of Series 2 of Aircrash Confidential. This was first shown on Discovery HD on 15 March 2012.
  • BBC Radio Wales, 11 March 2016, interview about the fifth anniversary of the Great East Japan Earthquake.
  • J-Wave (Japanese radio), interview about the shinkansen and its significance, 13 November 2014.
  • BBC Radio Wales Jason Mohammad show, interview about Japan and the adherence to rules, 10 October 2014.
  • NHK Gunma, interview my research on the flight JL123 crash, 12 July 2012 – broadcast on 13 August 2012.
  • BBC Radio Wales (Jamie & Louise show), interview about learning Japanese the increasing popularity of Japanese at universities in the UK,19 June 2009.
  • Newsweek, interview on changes in Japan’s international role, 10 July 2003.
